I have been thinking a lot about what makes an extraordinary experience. While it is such an evolving concept, a few things are clear to me:
1) It is truly in the eye of the experiencer
2) It has no genre or type
3) It is often (but not always) extraordinary with the right people.
We have young kids and one definition for me is what are the experiences in this world that I would like for them to experience. I am putting together an atlas for our kids and we hope to live long enough to share all these experiences with them.
Without further ado, introducing extraordinary experience #3, Karim’s at the Islamic Cultural Center, New Delhi. I get asked for restaurant recommendations all the time and in most cases it really depends — it depends on what you like, where you are, and the context of your company and travel.
In the case of Karim’s, I believe (other than being a vegetarian where it should be avoided), it requires no context. This little known gem is in our humble opinion, is worthy of your last meal on earth. Go hungry, order slow and get ready for hell. Lastly, if you want to make this experience epic, carry an aperitif to share from the boot of your car in the parking lot. No better way to live like a local.
At Savor, we are curators whose mission is to help people savor life through extraordinary experiences. Welcome to the future of travel.
Every letter will showcase one extraordinary experience from somewhere in this beautiful world. We promise to be objective, independent, authentic and most of all, to never stop seeking. We hope you enjoy the journey with us as much as you do the destination.
Forever seeking,
Team Savor
